Delhi Design Festival (DDF), powered by USID Foundation (Universal, Sustainable, Inclusive Design for social change…www.usidfoundation.org), is LIVELY, RICH and a DEMOCRATIC platform to celebrate, share, exchange, experience, learn, inspire, make new connections, build new collaborations, facilitate dialog between Design Professionals, People, Policy Maker, Civic Agencies, Governments and industry. DDF is also a platform to celebrate design and design thing and showcase the Indian design not only to India but to the world. It also aims to establish Indian design and culture on the global creative map, to attract international business and collaborations for design and other creative industries of India and establish Delhi-India as the “Design Capital of the World” in few years from now.
DDF also offers meeting point between the various domains of design and offer a platform for Indian and International design/creative minds and leaders to meet, exchange knowledge, ideas and experience. DDF will be providing simultaneous dynamic conferences, educational programs and entertainment for both guests and participants to enjoy, feel inspired and achieve professional connections and also will be promoting global and Indian most innovative ideas, prototypes and creative solutions for Urban Challenges and complementing Smart Cities.
Delhi Design Festival will also serves as a platform to participate and discuss our cities, its culture and making our cities sustainable, accessible, democratic and enhancing the urban experience by engaging with various stakeholders and using design thinking methodologies. This will not only help in enhancing the quality of urban experience for the residents but also help in increasing the tourist flow to these cities.

India will have the world’s top megacities of the century, a consequence of unstoppable urbanisation. The government has chalked out an ambitious plan to develop and build 100 SMART CITIES to ensure a great quality of life to its inhabitants as well as efficient utilitisation of resources and maximising ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY – in addition to ATTRACTING GLOBAL INVESTMENT & QUALITY TALENT, SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, and IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIVING EXPERIENCE for its CITIZEN and the VISITORS/TOURIST.
The mission of Delhi Design Festival (DDF) is to complement this vision with a series of initiatives that showcase HOW DESIGN CAN BE A KEY DRIVER to manifesting and delivering on the SMART CITY concept in the form of envisioning PRODUCTS, SERVICES, SYSTEM, ENVIRONMENT and SPACES – in sum, the QUALITY & SUSTAINABLE URBAN EXPERIENCE.
